What is Islam?
Islam is a monotheistic faith that teaches submission to the one God, Allah. Followers of Islam are called Muslims. The religion emphasizes faith, prayer, charity, fasting, and good character.
Who is Prophet Muhammad ﷺ?
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is the final messenger of Allah, sent to guide humanity. He taught the Qur’an and exemplified good character, compassion, and justice.
What is the Qur’an?
The Qur’an is Islam’s holy book, believed to be the word of Allah revealed to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It provides guidance on worship, morality, and daily life.
What are the Five Pillars of Islam?
The Five Pillars are the foundation of a Muslim’s faith and practice:
- Shahada: Declaration of faith in one God and Muhammad ﷺ as His messenger.
- Salah: Performing five daily prayers.
- Zakat: Giving charity to help those in need.
- Sawm: Fasting during the month of Ramadan.
- Hajj: Pilgrimage to Mecca for those able to do so.
Can anyone visit a Masjid?
Yes! Masjids welcome visitors of all backgrounds. Modest clothing is appreciated, shoes are removed before entering prayer areas, and respectful silence is observed.

Who is Jesus (ʿĪsā) in Islam?
Jesus (peace be upon him) is a revered prophet in Islam. Muslims believe he:
- Was born to Mary (Maryam) miraculously.
- Performed miracles with Allah’s permission.
- Brought guidance to his people, calling them to worship one God.
- Is not considered the son of God but a messenger of Allah.

Does Islam encourage violence?
No. Islam condemns violence against innocent people. Fighting is only allowed in self-defense or to uphold justice, never as a tool of oppression.
“Whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land – it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one – it is as if he had saved mankind entirely.”
